Sexy Casanova
Los Angeles never really had to put up with the whole ‘April showers' bit of the equation, but we're obviously a charmed place cause we got the ‘May flowers' anyway. Have you checked a party calendar this month? It's a joke. Non-stop hip hops jamming up all the weekends and sprightly weekdays. So it ain't a surprise that Saturday, May 24th (aka Memorial Day weekend) is loaded with action, especially at a place like Hollywood holy ground, Cinespace. Legacy Entertainment LLC is bringing Miami rave prodigy Lazaro Casanova into the fold, rounded out by Bul!m!atron!, Da Elephunks, DJ Sin, Radical Posture, We A.R.E., Robot Noize, Kawata, and Olly Sneaks, and the air will be filled with everything from crunk to funk to electro-punk, and doors don't close till four AM, so prep yourself before you wreck yourself.

Paul That Jazz
The sun rises, the sun sets, Paul Van Dyk tours the planet: three things a human being can always count on to stay the exact same. That's a comforting thought, ain't it? Well this German lynchpin of the global dance music empire is currently hop-scotching around the United States in support of the summer season and his own wanderlust, and there's no time like the present to get back in touch with this giant and the giant audio footprints he leaves in his wake. One of his current jaunt's many stops occurs Thursday, May 15th at The Forum in Charlotte, North Carolina, and capacity is never as infinite as Paul's following requires, so those interested are advised to make haste to the ticket box and throw some shillings at the attendant. A damn good time is guaranteed for all under The Forum's roof. This really truly ought to include you.

Daisy Chain

It's baaaaaack. The undying and immortal Los Angeles ravetopia, Electric Daisy Carnival, is returning in 2008 for its unsane 11th annual installment on Saturday, June 28th, and though basically the bulk of the cold hard related facts are still shrouded in mystery, a few certainties have been proclaimed by the Insomniac Events camp so we're here to spread the news. Naturally, this year's EDC will contain all the usual megalithic amenities such as five colossal stages of sound, 12 hours of “non-stop freaks, fun, and festiviteez,” and five hundred million famous performers (or somewhere in the ballpark of that number at least). Held once again at the LA Memorial Coliseum and Exposition Park and running for a marathon 12 straight hours, this is one of those parties you train for. Hit the track, Rocky.
